Welcome to Bishopton Tennis Club

About

Founded in the early 1920's, and originally known as Erskine Lawn Tennis Club, tennis in the village has been established as an important community facility.

It was through the generosity of Miss Ella Winifred Brown and her family, leasing the land for the playing of tennis, that the club was established on its present site.

With 3 All-Weather Courts and new floodlights, tennis is available for play from 9am to 9:30pm, 7 days per week, 365 days a year!

New Floodlights at Bishopton Tennis Club

We are delighted our new floodlights have been installed and are ready for use. This is thanks to the generous support of sportscotland, who have given a grant of £40,000 covering 50% of the cost, as well as grants from the Bishopton Community Development Trust and Engage Renfrewshire and a loan from The Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), which will help cover the remaining the costs.

The Club is looking to introduce the sport to more of the community through open days, school engagement activities and social events all year round; efforts have been limited by the lack of lighting on the courts from October through March. The success of this project will allow the Club to deliver year-round activities now with the hope more will take up playing the sport.

Book a Court
